POEMS FOR CHILDREN
And their wonderful world of imagination
PRETENDING ( Especially for Amber ) I pretend I'm a bird And a big bird, too And there's lots and lots Of things I can do I fly through the clouds And when I look down I can see all the people Who live in our town I wing over mountains And a sparkling stream And sandy beaches That glitter and gleam I perch on the deck Of a ship at sea And sing to the sailors Who stare at me I fly to some countries Whose names I've read In a book with pictures I keep near my bed And when I get tired And I need a rest I fly back home To my cosy nest There are lots of things I pretend to be But really I'm happy To be just me K.D.
