APOLOGY

I got some feedback from a lady
She was really hopping mad
She said she hates reading my poems
But has to read them to her dad

She said my poems are too lengthy
And with this I do agree
They wander and they waffle on
And rave so endlessly

She says she's found a way to beat me
And she now reads them real fast
She only reads the first verse
And then skips through to the last

Because she now has read so many
She claims she's figured out my style
All the stuff I cram in the middle
Is just not worth her while

She said my poems give her eye strain
And she insists I'm getting worse
She claims I seldom write a poem
I write short stories set to verse

I feel so sorry for this woman
That my verse gives her sore eyes
I'll try to shorten them in future
And I apologise

I have such pure intentions
When I start writing at the top
But then I keep on writing
It seems I just can't stop

But to prove I'm really trying
To kick this rambling curse
This poem is completed
I'll not write another verse
